Jay J. Rice

Jay J. Rice holds a certification as a civil trial attorney from the Supreme Court of New Jersey's Board on Trial Attorney Certification. He represents businesses, individuals, public agencies and estates in his role as managing partner at Nagel Rice LLP. His firm is located in Roseland, New Jersey, and provides representation for clients in the surrounding towns and counties. He has been Rated Top 10 Super Lawyers for many Years.

Licensed as an attorney since 1977, he has developed a career in the areas of business, corporate, personal injury, estate and real estate law. His most noteworthy cases have included class actions, international entities and estates valued in the millions of dollars. Mr. Rice has a long track record of defending his clients' positions in matters such as will disputes, securities, professional malpractice, mass transit accidents and consumer fraud.

Mr. Rice has presented cases in state and federal courts that resulted in substantial settlements. A case that arose from a deadly train fire that killed 155 people produced a $16.5 million settlement. An estate litigation case resulted in an $11 million settlement for his client. Drawing upon the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, he obtained $7.1 million for a homeowner. His considerable experience has made him a sought-after lecturer. He has made numerous presentations for The Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the New Jersey State Bar Association.
