Michael T. Carton

Michael T. Carton is the founder and shareholder of The Carton Law Offices, P.C., in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. He represents injured individuals, families and workers in personal injury and workers’ compensation matters. A third-generation New Jersey attorney, he brings a deep sense of responsibility, integrity and personal commitment to every client he serves. He established his firm with the guiding principle that each client deserves direct attention, thorough preparation and determined advocacy.

With more than 25 years of legal experience, Mr. Carton has appeared extensively in both state and federal courts throughout New Jersey and beyond. He regularly handles complex litigation from inception through trial and has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of clients in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, construction site injuries, product liability, trucking and bus accidents, slip-and-fall claims, animal bites, occupational exposure injuries and common carrier accidents. In addition to injury cases, he has significant experience representing wrongfully terminated and mistreated workers before arbitrators and administrative law judges.

Mr. Carton is known for personally handling the matters entrusted to him, ensuring each case is meticulously prepared and aggressively pursued while remaining sensitive to the unique challenges faced by injured clients and their families. Beyond financial recovery, he is committed to helping injured workers obtain appropriate and necessary medical treatment.

Following law school, Mr. Carton completed two prestigious judicial clerkships – one at the federal trial court level and another with the New Jersey Appellate Division – gaining invaluable insight into judicial decision-making and effective litigation strategy. He later practiced at a large international law firm, where he worked on high-exposure insurance litigation, before choosing to dedicate his career to representing individuals rather than corporate defendants.

Prior to founding The Carton Law Offices, P.C., Mr. Carton led the personal injury and workers’ compensation practice at another prominent firm. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall Law School, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Seton Hall Law Review, and his B.A. from St. Lawrence University. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, the District of Columbia and multiple federal courts.
