Edward J. Rebenack, a partner at Rebenack Aronow & Mascolo, LLP, in Somerville, New Jersey, has been acknowledged by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a civil trial attorney since 2005. His legal endeavors revolve around civil trials and litigation, with a deep-seated passion for personal injury cases. Although he currently focuses on litigation involving truck and bus crashes, his extensive background includes managing severe injury and wrongful death cases.
In the early stages of his career, Mr. Rebenack represented insurance companies, delving into the investigation and litigation of suspected fraudulent claims. This experience granted him a unique insider’s perspective, leading him to recognize that many innocent accident victims were significantly disadvantaged against the robust insurance industry.
Mr. Rebenack is a member of the Board of Regents for the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys and earned board certification in truck accident law from the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 2019. To enhance his representation of truck accident victims, he obtained a Class A commercial learners permit and enrolled in truck driving school for hands-on experience behind the wheel.
After graduating magna cum laude with a B.S. in economics from Seton Hall University, Mr. Rebenack earned his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law. He has been admitted to practice in New Jersey since 1995 and in New York since 2001, and he is also admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court.
As an associate of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Trucking Litigation Group and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Mr. Rebenack frequently presents on truck accident litigation at various conferences. Achieving a perfect score of 10/10 on Avvo, he holds an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.
*AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell® is the facilitator of a peer-review rating process. Ratings reflect the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary. Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ fall into two categories – legal ability and general ethical standards.

- Ed Rebenack Obtains $1.125 Million for Truck Crash Litigation RAM Law’s Ed Rebenack settles truck crash litigation for $1.125 million. The crash occurred when a tri-axle dump truck rear-ended the RAM Law client as they approached a yellow traffic light on Route 1 in New Jersey. The truck driver accused the client of cutting in front of the truck and then slamming on the brakes for a yellow light. The client maintained they never changed lanes before stopping for the light. The police officer issued a careless driving ticket to the client which was eventually dismissed. Rebenack, Aronow & Mascolo’s client ultimately required neck surgery about 2 ½ years after the crash. The insurance carrier for the truck company agreed to pay $1.125 million to settle the litigation as the trial date approached., 2018
- $490,000 Settlement for Industrial Accident RAM Law Partner Ed Rebenack settles industrial accidentlitigation for $490,000. The RAM Law client was employed as a master mechanic at a manufacturing plant in Somerset, New Jersey. The manufacturer contracted an outside firm to install a new piece of production equipment. Although the new equipment weighed much more than 5,000 pounds, the installer attempted to lift the equipment with a forklift rated for no more than 5,000 pounds. In addition, the installer used an improper rigging method for the equipment. As the forklift blade bent, a C clamp shot off the blade and struck the RAM Law client in the neck. Injuries included a puncture wound to the neck, a shoulder tear requiring surgery and post-concussive syndrome. After deposing multiple representatives from the installation firm, their insurance company agreed to pay $490,000 to settle the claims before trial., 2017
- $1.5 Million Settlement for Somerset County Auto Litigation RAM Law Partner Ed Rebenack settled Somerset County auto litigation for $1,500,000. The RAM Law client was rear-ended by another vehicle in Hopewell, NJ, resulting in neck and low back injuries. The back injuries required multiple surgical procedures to correct the damage and manage the client’s pain. The client lost wages and incurred substantial medical expenses. Initially the Defendant contended that the car accident was not severe enough to cause the extent of the client’s claimed injuries. However, the Defendant’s insurance company agreed to pay $1.5 million to avoid trial., 2017
- $1,050,000 Settlement for Defective Product Burn Victim The case involved a 2012 fire in a 2-family house in Plainfield, NJ. We represented a mother and her 3 children, ages 4,6, and 8, who were 2nd floor tenants. A fire started within the refrigerator while the client was bathing her children. She was overcome by flames as she managed to get her 3 children out of the apartment. She spent 51 days at St. Barnabas Hospital in the burn unit. We filed suit against the manufacturer of the kitchen appliance claiming product defects and also against the landlord claiming inadequate smoke alarms. In addition to claims for the mother’s physical injuries, we asserted psychological claims on behalf of each child. The matter was filed in Superior Court of NJ, Union County. All claims resolved following jury selection this week., 2016
- $550,000 Obtained in Defective Product Litigation Rebenack settles defective product litigation for $550,000. The details of the litigation and identity of the parties are subject to a confidentiality agreement. With all product defect claims, it is important to preserve evidence from the beginning. If a work injury occurred due to a defective machine, the machine must be examined before it is placed back into use. If a defective product results in a fire, the fire scene must be examined before it is disturbed. A cause and origin analysis is critical for a successful presentation of these types of claims. The attorney can immediately apply for a court order seeking to preserve the product and any other relevant evidence until an expert is retained. If you suspect a defective product resulted in injury or damages, you should contact an attorney to take the necessary steps to protect your legal rights., 2016
- RAM Law Partner, Ed Rebenack, recently negotiated a $685,000 settlement for the victim of a tractor-trailer accident. A 78,000 pound tractor-trailer rear-ended the RAM Law client at an intersection on Route 1 in East Brunswick, NJ. The client suffered two herniated discs in his neck which worsened over time. Eventually the client required the removal of two discs and fusion of the vertebrae. The case settled after two years of litigation and shortly before trial., 2016

- I'm a trial lawyer and I help people who have been injured as a result of other people's negligence when someone calls who's been in an accident one of the primary things we do up front is find out you know what's causing chaos for them at that point whether it's they're out of work and they need to know how their wages are going to be paid if there's their car has been damaged and they need to know what their short-term transportation is going to be it really depends upon the circumstances and what the immediate needs are for the client the advantage of firm our size is the personal attention that every clientgets every case obviously is unique and one of the first things that I try and find out is what's important to the client so a lot of people think that every client wants to do whatever is possible to maximize the amount of their recovery and quite honestly there's a lot of clients who that's not their priority so it's important that I first understand exactly what the clients priority is and I'm just passionate about putting that strategy together to do my best to achieve that whatever is in the clients best interest whether that means putting a case together for settlement putting a case together for for trial whatever the case may be everycase is important every cases is handled the way it should be handled in the clients best interest we have whatever latitude we need to make sure that the clients best interests are served., An interview with RAM Law Attorney Ed Rebenack, 2017
