Eric J. Marcy serves as of counsel at Lyons & Associates, P.C., located in Somerville, New Jersey, and has been practicing law for more than 39 years. Concentrating his practice on civil, criminal and administrative law matters, he takes on cases including white collar criminal defense, corporate investigations, civil and criminal tax litigation, class action lawsuits, insurance audits, subpoena compliance, police and municipality liability, and parole planning and appeals.

Additionally, Mr. Marcy represents clients with criminal defense matters involving the Federal Criminal Code, the Title 39 of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Code and the New Jersey Code of Criminal Justice. He has extensive experience investigating decisions made by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) Division of Child Protection and Permanency and also has represented clients with substance abuse or psychiatric issues.

In the administrative law field, Mr. Marcy is authorized by the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) Legal Protection Plan to represent officers in administrative, civil and criminal law matters. He also investigates proceedings of professional licensing boards, and his clients include psychologists, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, clinical social workers, electricians, hearing aid dispensers and master plumbers.

Graduating magna cum laude, Mr. Marcy completed his undergraduate studies at Boston College, majoring in psychology and philosophy. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. Admitted to practice in the state of New Jersey, he is also licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit. 

Having gained invaluable experience in the legal criminal, civil and administrative law fields, Mr. Marcy upholds the rights of his clients and fights aggressively for them. Mr. Marcy previously served as a deputy attorney general at the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, Department of Law and Public Safety, Office of the Attorney General in the Appellate and Trial Sections. Actively affiliated with the legal community, he is a member of the New Jersey Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
