David T. Garnes

The founder of his own law firm, David T. Garnes is a dedicated attorney committed to protecting the rights of his clients in the Philadelphia metro area and southern New Jersey. He handles varied case types that include civil litigation, bankruptcy and family law, including divorce, alimony, child custody and child support.

Mr. Garnes received a bachelor's degree from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and graduated with honors. Following undergraduate studies, he enrolled at the Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C., and was awarded a merit scholarship in 1997. Earning his Juris Doctor in 2000, Mr. Garnes was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania the same year. While still in law school, he took on the role of legal intern for United States Bankruptcy Judge John S. Dalis. He was also an associate at Fox Rothschild LLP.

Prior to opening his firm, Mr. Garnes worked as an attorney at Stradley Ronon from 2004 – 2008. He served as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Ad Hoc Committee on Continuing Legal Education and is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association. His civil and community activities include active memberships in the Washington Township Zoning Board and the Camden County Bar Association.

Mr. Garnes is licensed to practice before the state courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania; the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey; and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In 2006, The Legal Intelligencer named Mr. Garnes as one of Pennsylvania's "Lawyers on the Fast Track."
