            Amy Wechsler is a Certified Matrimonial Attorney, an accredited divorce and family mediator, a trained Collaborative Divorce attorney, and partner in Shimalla, Wechsler, Lepp & D’Onforio, L.L.P., in Warren, New Jersey, a firm devoted to family law, mediation and collaborative divorce.  She has practiced law since 1985, and has mediated privately and through court programs since 1995. A former chair of the District XIII Attorney Ethics Committee, she received the NJ Commission on Professionalism Professional Lawyer of the Year Award for Somerset County in 2005.  She currently serves on the NJ State Bar Association Family Law Executive Committee (Co-Chair, Children’s Rights Subcommittee), Immediate Past President of the Somerset County Bar Association, Treasurer of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts-New Jersey, a panelist on the Matrimonial Early Settlement Panels for Hunterdon and Somerset Counties, Trustee of the NJ Collaborative Law Group, and Chair of the NJ Collaborative Law Group Education Committee.

 

       Ms. Wechsler has lectured and authored articles on divorce and family law issues sponsored by the N.J. Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE), the N.J.Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM), the NJ Society of CPAs, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts-New Jersey (AFCC-NJ; the Association of Divorce Financial Planners (ADFP), and the Somerset County Bar Association (SCBA).  She is a member of the faculty of the ICLE Mediation Training Program and the ICLE Collaborative Law Training Program.

 

Before attending Rutgers School of Law - Newark, Ms. Wechsler earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University, and a B.S. in Child Development and Family Relations from the University of Connecticut.
