He holds his license to practice in New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the District of Maryland, the District of Columbia and the Eastern District of Virginia as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd and 4th Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court.

A leader in his legal community, Mr. Kane currently serves as vice president and board member of the National Employment Lawyers Association's New Jersey Chapter. He is also an active member of the American Bar Association's Litigation and Labor & Employment Law sections. He serves as co-chair for the Chet Levitt Fund for Employment Law.
