Kelly J. Davis

Kelly J. Davis is a senior associate attorney at Business Law Southwest, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she represents clients in a range of complex civil matters. Her practice focuses on business litigation, employment litigation defense, corporate law and cannabis law. She regularly advises and defends businesses facing claims involving wrongful termination, retaliation and discrimination, providing strategic counsel tailored to each client’s operational and legal needs.

Ms. Davis brings a strong academic and professional background to her practice. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Chicago in 2008 before pursuing her legal education at the University of New Mexico School of Law. There, she graduated magna cum laude in 2013 and was inducted into the prestigious Order of the Coif in recognition of her academic achievements.

Throughout law school, Ms. Davis was named to the dean’s list each year, received the Torts Scholar Award and published two articles in legal journals, demonstrating both her analytical skill and commitment to legal scholarship. Following law school, Ms. Davis gained valuable judicial experience through several clerkships. She served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Chief Justice F. Michael Kruse of the High Court of American Samoa, the Honorable Judge Kathleen N.A. Watanabe of the Kaua’i Fifth Circuit Court in Hawaii and the Honorable Judge Timothy L. Garcia at the New Mexico Court of Appeals. These roles provided her with a comprehensive understanding of judicial decision-making and appellate procedure.
