Meredith A. Johnstone

Meredith A. Johnstone is a native New Mexican and a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law.   Meredith also earned her  Master’s in Business in Administration from the University of New Mexico Robert O. Anderson School of Management.  Since her admission to the State Bar of New Mexico in 2010, Meredith has practiced exclusively in the area of family law. Meredith  is a second-generation attorney in New Mexico following in her father’s footsteps.  Meredith takes pride in the compassion,  knowledge, care, and advocacy that she provides to those that she represents.  She genuinely cares about her clients and works very hard to make difficult life events easier for them.  When representing a client in a family law matter,  Meredith believes it is very important to make an early determination in how best to proceed in each family law matter, as no case is the same.  Whether it be litigation, mediation, or collaboration, Meredith’s priority is to get her client through their legal issue in the most efficient way possible.  The relationships and reputation that Meredith has developed due to her long-standing dedication and commitment to the family law community are invaluable when assisting her clients in resolution of their legal issues. Meredith’s involvement and accomplishments in our community include: Current President of the University of New Mexico School of Law Alumni Board, Immediate Past President of the Albuquerque Bar Association, Past President of the New Mexico Collaborative Practice Group, previous Board Member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of New Mexico.  Meredith is a presenter for the State Bar’s Divorce Options Workshop and was selected as a Super Lawyers’ Rising Star in 2018. Meredith also enjoys her service on the New Mexico Bowl Executive Committee and can be found at the UNM basketball and football games cheering on her Lobos!  Outside of all of this, Meredith enjoys playing volleyball, golf and pickleball!
