Shay E. Meagle

Providing vigorous counsel to her clients in matters of bankruptcy*, Shay E. Meagle is a senior attorney at Business Law Southwest in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She also provides advocacy in other business matters, including creditor-debtor rights, corporate litigation, employment litigation and business real estate. With her 27 years of experience, she provides quality service to clients around New Mexico.

As a certified creditor’s rights specialist by the American Board of Certification, Ms. Meagle has extensive experience in representing clients in state, federal and appeal courts. She handles loan recoveries and debt restructuring, and assists creditors with lawsuits and legal notices. She also helps debtors negotiate settlements and protects them against harassment. Her approach is led with precision and knowledge, ensuring that her clients are understood and their goals are prioritized.

After graduating from Wittenberg University with a bachelor’s degree in 1993, Ms. Meagle pursued her law degree at Capital University of Law. She gained her Juris Doctor in 1996 and earned her license to practice in New Mexico in 1998. She is further admitted to appear before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th, 9th, 10th and 11th Circuits and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico.

As a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Ms. Meagle stays committed to her profession and strives to keep up with the latest developments in her field. She has also been recognized as a Fellow by the American Bar Foundation and previously served on the Board of Directors for the State Bar of New Mexico’s Bankruptcy Section.
