Mr. Cervantes attended the University of New Mexico, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 1983. At California Polytechnic State University, he earned a master’s degree in architecture in 1985 before attending law school. In 1991, he graduated with his Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law and was a member of the Law Review and on the National Moot Court and Mock Trial Teams.
A member of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association, Mr. Cervantes is also a member of the State Bar of New Mexico and an associate member of the American Institute of Architects. He is also a Commissioner for the New Mexico Uniform Law Commission and a former member of the Inn of Courts.
One of his largest and most historic cases involved FedEx, where he worked with his colleagues to obtain a $165 million judgment, which the National Law Journal named the largest motor vehicle verdict in the United States at the time.
