The founder of A.G. Trakas P.C., Arthur G. Trakas has a varied practice that encompasses personal injury and wrongful death litigation, criminal defense, estate planning, and family law matters. Mr. Trakas attended Stony Brook University as an undergraduate and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1975. After obtaining a Master of Arts in political science in 1977, he went on to pursue his legal education at Quinnipiac University School of Law, and in 1980, he was awarded his Juris Doctor. Mr. Trakas is fluent in Spanish and Greek as well as in English.
In his personal injury practice, Mr. Trakas assists clients who have been harmed as a result of the negligence of other parties. The types of cases that he has worked on have included motor vehicle crashes, dog bites, premises liability, pedestrian knockdowns, and construction site accidents. His recovery of $1 million in a wrongful death case involving a client who was hit by a municipal vehicle is just one of many significant settlements and jury awards that he has been able to obtain.
In his estate planning and probate practice, Mr. Trakas has prepared and reviewed wills, trusts, health care and financial powers of attorney, and advance medical directives. He also helps guide his clients through what can often be a confusing and lengthy probate process. Mr. Trakas’s family law experience has encompassed all of the legal aspects of divorce, and his criminal law practice involves state misdemeanor and felony charges.
