Ms. Patterson received a bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College and earned a master’s degree from Columbia University. She went on to graduate from the University of Chicago Law School. She holds licenses to practice law before all New York state courts, the U.S. district courts for the eastern and southern districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.
