    The founder of Trainor Law, P.C., Craig Trainor brings extensive negotiation, litigation, and trial experience to the table when handling civil rights and federal and state criminal defense cases. As a former prosecutor and having served as a federal law clerk, a prestigious and highly sought-after position, Mr. Trainor is a highly respected attorney who is frequently recommended for some of the toughest cases throughout New York. When the outcome of a case looks bleak, Mr. Trainor has often been able to beat the odds and gain a successful outcome.

    During Mr. Trainor’s education, his passion for learning and professionalism became evident. After graduating magna cum laude in 2001 from John Jay College with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and an English Honors minor, he earned his Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Mr. Trainor graduated from law school cum laude in 2005 and was awarded the highest grade in the class for legal writing and research, trial practice, and evidence.

    Mr. Trainor has received numerous recognitions during his career, including an Avvo rating of “Superb” and its Clients’ Choice Award, as well as being named in The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 Trial Lawyers list.

    Mr. Trainor is admitted to practice law in the state of New York, as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York. He is an active member of the New York City Bar Association and has served as the New York City Affairs Committee's subcommittee chairman for the NYPD Accountability Project from 2014 to 2015.  He currently sits on the New York City Bar Association's Criminal Law Committee. 

    In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Trainor is an engaged citizen. He has published essays on things that matter in National Review, the Weekly Standard, the Washington Examiner, City Journal, and the American Spectator. He was also a 2019 New York City Regional Fellow with the National Review Institute.
