Attorney Deborah Colson is the founding principal of Colson Law PLLC in New York, New York. A 1991 graduate of Wesleyan University, Ms. Colson obtained her Juris Doctor cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1995. The New York State Bar admitted her to practice that same year, and she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.

Ms. Colson has also managed the Guantanamo monitoring program for Human Rights First's Law & Security Department, and she has written extensively and conducted numerous lectures and seminars on topics involving effective federal trial practices, the war on terror, national security, and other civil and human rights issues.

Committed to her local community, Ms. Colson serves on the board of trustees for the Partnership for Children’s Rights and as vice-chair of the board of directors for the National Dance Institute.
