G. Oliver Koppell

G. Oliver Koppell serves as a partner at McLaughlin & Stern, LLP, located in New York City, where he provides legal services to clients all across New York. Mr. Koppell received his undergraduate degree, graduating with cum laude from Harvard University in 1962. He then went on to attend the Harvard Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1965. While in law school, he laid the groundwork for a career defined by legal scholarship and civic engagement.

Admitted to practice law in New York in 1966, Mr. Koppell is also admitted to appear before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. In addition to his legal practice, he has served as a delegate to the Democratic Judicial Convention in the Bronx and held prominent leadership roles in government, including chairman of the New York State Assembly Judiciary Committee and chairman of the New York City Council Committee on Mental Health.
