Irene Vaisman

Irene Vaisman is the founder of The Vaisman P.C. From the firm's office in New York, New York, she focuses her practice exclusively on immigration matters, providing assistance to clients throughout the New York City greater metropolitan area as well as in parts of New Jersey. Fluent in both English and Russian, Ms. Vaisman has represented immigrants from Eastern and Western Europe, South America, the Middle East, and the West Indies. Admitted to practice before all New York and New Jersey state courts, she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

Ms. Vaisman's immigration experience encompasses a variety of matters involving individual clients. Her background includes assisting people who are seeking asylum as well as representing clients in deportation and removal proceedings. She has worked on obtaining fiancé and student visas, and she has helped people who are seeking employment in the United States. Other cases that Ms. Vaisman has been involved in include naturalization and citizenship petitions and appeals, family immigration, Violence Against Women Act petitions, nonimmigrant visas and waivers, marriage-based green cards, and consular processing. She has appeared before the Board of Immigration Appeals and other tribunals. Ms. Vaisman's family came to the United States from the former Soviet Union in 1992 in order to escape religious persecution. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University at Buffalo in 2001, she followed the path that both her mother and grandfather had taken and pursued a legal education. She subsequently was awarded her Juris Doctor by New York Law School in 2004.
