Lara P. Ott

Lara Ott is a founding partner of Stein & Ott LLP, a preeminent boutique matrimonial and family law firm located in midtown Manhattan, servicing high-net worth and high-income clients and handling sophisticated and complex litigation.  Ms. Ott has built her reputation on offering the finest personalized service in divorce and custody matters and sensitivity to her client's personal and financial needs.  Ms. Ott handles complex divorce cases involving significant assets and property distribution, and has considerable experience advising and representing clients in all aspects of matrimonial law, including prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, custody and access issues, divorce negotiation and litigation, equitable distribution, spousal and child support, same-sex marriage, Family Court practice and other related issues.

Ms. Ott's practice is concentrated exclusively in divorce, matrimonial law and family law matters. Her practice focuses on personal attention to clients and to understanding each client's individual needs and goals.

After her first appointment eight years ago, Ms. Ott recently served a second three-year term as an appointed member of the Matrimonial Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and will commence a third term in 2021. The Matrimonial Law Committee addresses issues related to the family and the practice of matrimonial law including equitable distribution, spousal support, child support, custody, access, same sex marriage, prenuptial, post-nuptial and separation/settlement agreements, financial valuations and forensic valuations. Among its many efforts, the Matrimonial Committee reviews, assesses and, when appropriate, reports to the City Bar on legislation that directly or indirectly impacts the practice of matrimonial law.

Ms. Ott previously served for three years as an appointed member of the Domestic Violence Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.  She has been a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York for nearly a decade.
