A 1988 graduate of New York University, Ms. Fersch obtained her Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 1992. Along with practicing before all New York state courts, she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Widely regarded as a leader in her field, Ms. Fersch once served as the chairwoman for the New York County Lawyers Association's Women’s Rights Committee. She has also served as a panelist at the Brooklyn Law School Symposium on Domestic Violence, where she received publication in the Brooklyn Law School’s Journal of Law and Policy. Additionally, she has served as member of the New York Law School Fellowship Screening Committee, and she accepted an appointment to serve on the New York State Judicial Committee on Women in the Courts.

Along with maintaining a successful legal practice, Ms. Fersch routinely volunteers her time and legal services to organizations across her community. She helped establish the Women’s Bar Association Matrimonial Pro Bono Project in New York and Kings counties, and she still serves as the project's chairwoman. She also received the Hanna S. Cohn Pro Bono Award from the Women's Bar Association in 2015.

Furthermore, Ms. Fersch has served on the New York County Supreme Matrimonial Advisory Committee and remains a member of the Matrimonial Mediation Pilot subcommittee. She has also participated in the Matrimonial Law Summit at Hofstra University, and she has served as representative for the Women's Bar Association Civil Court Judicial Screening Panel.
