Attorney Robert J.A. Zito is a partner at Carter Ledyard & Milburn, LLP, in New York, New York, where he is the chair of the financial institutions regulatory and enforcement practice group. Mr. Zito represents individuals and businesses in corporate matters, securities litigation, white collar criminal defense and more. He also regularly counsels clients in topics, including fiduciary duties, corporate governance and internal investigations. He represents clients throughout New York state.
A graduate of Tulane University, Mr. Zito earned his law degree from New York Law School. In practice for more than 30 years, he has extensive trial and litigation experience. He is also experienced with alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and is a member of the meditation panel for the Supreme Court of New York, New York County Commercial Division.
Mr. Zito has lectured on business law topics at conferences and seminars and has authored articles for publications, including the New York Law Journal and for groups such as the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. He also serves as the canon church attorney for The Episcopal Diocese of New York and has been recognized for his work in this role by receiving the organization's Servant of Justice award in 2015.
