S. Joseph Donahue is a partner at the New York, New York, personal injury law firm Block O'Toole & Murphy. Mr. Donahue joined the firm in 2005 and achieved the rank of partner in 2012. The New York Times, the Associated Press and other major news outlets covered a 2007 case in which he represented a woman who sustained injuries from an accident that occurred after she drove over a Brooklyn pothole. The defendant in the case was the city of New York, and Mr. Donahue obtained a $1.25 million settlement for his client.

Mr. Donahue graduated from Loyola University Maryland in 1994 and The City University of New York School of Law in 1997. After law school, he began his career as a trial lawyer as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn. While at the prosecutor's office, he prosecuted violent criminals and brought hundreds of cases before the New York State grand jury. In 2003, Mr. Donahue transitioned to private practice with a firm that focused on medical malpractice, where he represented hospitals and physicians against claims of malpractice, providing him with unique insight that he now uses to assist plaintiffs in such claims.

Mr. Donahue is licensed to practice law in both federal and state courts in New York and New Jersey. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the prestigious Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He is also on the board of directors for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and he serves on the New York State Trial Lawyers Labor Law Committee.
