A 1993 graduate of the University of Illinois, where he was a Cohn Scholar, Mr. Kalina obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1996. While there, he placed first in several moot court and mock trial competitions, and he received the Dean’s Award for Top Performance in Litigation Skills.

He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He also holds his admission to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, and he is an active member of the New York State Bar Association's Commercial and Federal Litigation Sections and the Federal Bar Council, among his other professional affiliations.
