Sweekrutha Shankar serves as a founding partner at Shankar Ninan Law Firm in New York, New York, where she leads the immigration law practice and manages a team of paraprofessionals. Her practice focuses on immigration matters for businesses and individuals across numerous industries.
Ms. Shankar assists companies ranging from startups to large corporations in securing various visa types for foreign professionals. Her firm processes over 850 H-1B petitions annually, including transfer and lottery cases. She works with clients in finance, pharmaceuticals, IT, retail, engineering, health care, hospitality and nonprofit sectors, providing guidance through the complexities of U.S. immigration law.
For corporate clients, Ms. Shankar obtains H-1B, TN, L, E-3, O-1, P-3 and R-1 visas, along with employment-based green cards. She also advises on EB-5 investor visa applications. Her individual practice includes family-based immigration and naturalization matters. Her interest in immigration law began during her high school years when she worked as a document clerk.
