Attorney Profile

Attorney Thomas J. Moverman is a partner at Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman, P.C., in New York, New York, where he has a practice focused on products liability. He serves clients throughout the New York area in cases involving defective machinery, household and workplace products, motor vehicles, toxic drugs and chemicals and other products liability matters. His clients also include construction workers injured due to equipment or dangerous working conditions.

Mr. Moverman is an original founder of Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman, P.C., which was established in 1989. Throughout his career, he has litigated many significant cases which have resulted in substantial verdicts and settlements. He has been licensed to practice law in New York since 1979 and is also admitted to appear before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Soon after founding his firm, Mr. Moverman recovered substantial verdicts for clients, which resulted in authoring a book related to products liability. One of his most notable cases involved an individual with a lower leg amputation caused by a drunk driver who hit a parked vehicle. After the client was accused of faking the injury, the case resulted in a $6 million libel verdict against the establishment that served the alcohol.

Along with representing clients in the New York state courts, Mr. Moverman’s federal court experience includes representing the family of a mechanic who passed away while attempting to fix a soda machine. He secured a significant settlement for the family.
