Attorney Profile
Troy Rosasco is known as one of the top "go to" 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund attorneys in New York. When other attorneys need answers, they call Troy. He teaches at St. John's University School of Law School where he is an Adjunct Professor of Law. Judges attend his legal seminars.
He takes on the toughest 9/11 cancer cases and workers comp cases with the most serious injuries in New York and wins them. He is a Fellow in the national College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers. Troy currently represents over 1000 9/11 victims, survivors and first responders in cancer and/or respiratory claims related to Ground Zero toxic exposure before the federal 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund.
However, he brings the same skillful hands to workers with lesser injuries and fights to maximize the recovery in their claims just as much as he does in catostrafic injury claims. Sadly, he has recently won cases for a quadraplegic worker and a worker with cancer due to radiation exposure on the job. He has won numerous death claims and is currently working on three different claims involving permanent brain damage.
Despite his reputation, Troy still answers his own phone for new cases well into the night with his down to earth style. He is well known for representing workers with combined different claims needing coordination, such as 9/11 claims, personal injury, Social Security and/or workers comp.
Now the boring stuff! Troy is one of the few Ivy League educated attorneys representing injured, ill and disabled workers in New York . Showing an early dedication to injured workers, he received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University in 1985. He then earned his law degree from St. John's University School of Law in 1989, where he was the president of the Labor Relations and Employment Law Society.
An adjunct professor at St. John's University School of Law, Troy teaches a course entitled "Protective Legislation for Workers" to upper class students. Since 2005, he has been the publisher of a website that provides information for disabled and injured workers, the New York Disability Law Blog. Admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey, Troy is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.
Troy is a member of several bar associations and professional organizations. These include the Injured Workers' Bar Association of New York, the Nassau County Bar Association, the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. Inc. Mr. Rosasco has been a member of the Nassau County Bar Association Attorney Grievance Committee since 2006. From 2006 through 2012, he served on the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives board of directors, and from 1999 through 2001, he chaired the Nassau County Bar Association Workers' Compensation Law Committee. Mr. Rosasco performs pro bono work with the Volunteer Lawyers Project operated through Nassau/Suffolk Law Services Committee, Inc.
