Attorney Profile

The founder of his eponymous law firm, Arnie Herz handles a variety of matters for his clients. Based in Port Washington, New York, he has had his own practice since 2000, representing people and businesses in Nassau and Suffolk counties and throughout other parts of the greater New York City metropolitan area. Mr. Herz is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

Much of Mr. Herz’s practice is devoted to various aspects of business law and the representation of dozens of the top sports broadcasters in the USA. He has represented entrepreneurs who are launching a new venture, and at the outset, he helps them determine the most appropriate form of legal entity that it should operate under. Once it has been formed, Mr. Herz prepares applicable employment agreements and other contracts, and as the business becomes more seasoned, he guides it through compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, helps register and preserve its trademarks and other intellectual property assets, and in essence serves as its general counsel.

Mr. Herz has an active civil litigation practice as well, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. His cases have included, among other claims, business torts, contract breaches, and disputes among shareholders and partners, and he has often helped avoid protracted courtroom battles by going through mediation. Mr. Herz’s successful track record in all of these endeavors has earned him an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and other honors.

Mr. Herz is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the Fordham University School of Law. He has lectured and written extensively on a variety of topics, and his professional affiliations include the Nassau County Bar Association.
