Upon deciding to enter the legal profession, she enrolled at Pace University School of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 1981. The New York State Bar Association admitted her to practice the following year, and she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.

    A recognized leader in her field, Ms. Fontana routinely lectures across her region on a variety of topics including effective personal injury litigation and other related subjects, and she maintains an active involvement with several local, state and national bar associations. She also serves her community through her involvement with El Centro Hispano, where she currently serves as board secretary.
