Attorney Profile

Salvatore Gangemi has devoted his entire career to the area of employment law. With a primary focus on discrimination, sexual harassment, and wage and hour matters, he is dedicated to representing clients in New York City and the Greater New York area.

Mr. Gangemi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in government and politics from St. John's University in 1990. He then earned his Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law in 1993. He was an associate at an international business law firm from 1993 to 1996 and was a partner at Gangemi, Mango & Iacoviello, LLP from 1996 to 2005. Admitted to practice in New York, as well as before the U.S. Supreme Court, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd and 3rd Circuits and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Since 1994, Mr. Gangemi has been an advocate for fair wage practices for New York employees. In 2008, he argued a case before the New York State Court of Appeals, and as a result of his advocacy, the court ruled that New York's unlawful wage deduction statute protected all employees, including highly compensated employees.

In addition to practicing law, Mr. Gangemi is involved in a number of professional associations. He serves as an executive board member for the National Employment Lawyers Association and is the chair of the Employment Law Committee of the Trial Lawyers Section of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Gangemi was selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America in Employment Law and Litigation designation in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
