Bruce J. Wagner is the Chair of the Matrimonial and Family Law Department at Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP. He practices exclusively in the field of matrimonial and family law, and represents clients in the negotiation and litigation of pre-nuptial agreements, separation and divorce. His areas of concentration include divorce, high net worth property cases; prenuptial agreements; interstate support; and international support and custody. He also has a successful statewide appellate practice before the Appellate Divisions and the New York Court of Appeals. On June 1, 2010, Mr. Wagner became the Chair of the 2,700 member Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and served in that position until May 31, 2012.  He was admitted as a Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) in 1992 and is a past president of the AAML NY Chapter (2005-2007).  Mr. Wagner is a Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, which was founded in 1993 as a select group of 100 of the top family law trial lawyers from across the United States. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. He has presented continuing legal education seminars to judges and lawyers for more than 20 years.

Mr. Wagner was a Town Justice for the Town of Schodack, Rensselaer County, having been elected in 2002 and re-elected in 2006, 2010 and 2014. He chose not to run for a 5th term in 2018 and served more than 16 years as a Town Justice, having also been appointed on numerous occasions as an Acting City Court Judge in Albany, Cohoes, Hudson, Rensselaer and Troy. During his judicial tenure, he was selected to be a faculty member for the Advanced Judicial Education programs for Town and Village Justices and has, since 1998, taught matrimonial and family law topics to Supreme and Family Court Judges at judicial seminars presented by the New York State Judicial Institute and Office of Court Administration.  He is a past president (2010-2011 and 2014-2015) of the Rensselaer County Magistrates' Association and is a member of the New York State Magistrates' Association.
