    Attorney Profile

Melody Gregory has served clients at Finkelstein & Partners, LLP, in Newburgh, New York, for more than a decade. Ms. Gregory initially joined the firm in 1977 after graduating from the Newburgh Free Academy, taking on a position as a case manager. Because of her exemplary dedication to her position, which she retained for two decades while pursuing a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York, Ms. Gregory became the first person awarded a scholarship from the firm in order to study at the Western New England College School of Law, from which she earned her Juris Doctor.

Ms. Gregory focuses her practice exclusively on personal injury law. She has been admitted to practice before state courts for both Connecticut and New York, and she is an energetic member of both states' bar associations.

That same dedication has led Ms. Gregory to obtain numerous verdicts and settlements amounting to more than $8 million on behalf of her clients. In one of her most notable cases, she represented the estate of an Orange County man killed in an accident perpetrated by an intoxicated individual whose insurance policy only carried $25,000. Ms. Gregory and the firm investigated further and secured a $920,000 settlement through tough negotiations with the insurance company for the bar that served the defendant.

In another case, Ms. Gregory secured a $3.2 million award for a client severely injured by someone participating in an illegal drag race. Other notable awards include a $1.3 million settlement for a man who had to undergo multiple surgeries after being ejected from a vehicle; an $850,000 settlement for a woman who sustained neck and back injuries in an automobile accident; and a $625,000 award for a woman struck by a bus.
