Cornelius D. Murray

Cornelius D. Murray is a distinguished legal professional serving as of counsel at O'Connell & Aronowitz Attorneys at Law in Albany, New York. With a robust focus on health law, he also oversees the firm's appeals, constitutional law, administrative law, and casino and gaming practices. 

Mr. Murray has a rich history of representing a diverse array of clients within the health care sector. He currently holds the position of general counsel for the New York State Health Facilities Association, where he tackles intricate issues related to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, regulatory compliance and Certificates of Need.

An alumnus of Harvard University, where he graduated cum laude, Mr. Murray went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. Since being admitted to practice law in New York in 1969, he has also gained admission to the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, as well as the United States District Courts across New York's Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts.

Renowned for his insights, Mr. Murray has delivered numerous lectures on legal issues impacting the health care industry and administrative law. His leadership roles have included serving as chair of the Administrative Law Committee of the New York State Bar Association and leading the Legal Task Force of the American Health Care Association. His professional affiliations are extensive, including active involvement with the American Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, among others.

As a fellow of the New York State Bar Foundation and a past president of the Albany County Bar Association, Mr. Murray's contributions to the legal community are well-recognized. He has been consistently listed in The Best Lawyers in America for health care law in Albany since 1991 and was honored as Lawyer of the Year in health care law in 2012.
