Leslie A. Silva

A partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Albany location, Leslie A. Silva is fiercely dedicated to helping families in Albany, New York, navigate complex legal issues involving divorce, child support, spousal maintenance, child custody, marital agreements, adoptions and more. The firm has more than 10 other office locations spread across New York, California, Texas and Washington, D.C.

Apart from the area of family law, Ms. Silva’s experience has extended to education law. She takes a student-centric approach and represents parents and students who are facing issues related to school discipline, civil rights violations, bullying, special education and more. She also assists with legal formalities pertaining to due process complaints, Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). 

Ms. Silva graduated from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in political science in 2005. Thereafter, she obtained her doctorate in law from the Western New England University School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 2008. She was licensed to practice in the state courts of New York and Connecticut the following year and later in the appellate courts of the same.

When not fighting hard for the rights of her clients, Ms. Silva focuses her efforts on giving back to the community. She is a proud member of the New York State Bar Association. She also volunteers her time to offer pro bono services to domestic violence victims, having previously served as a member of the Connecticut Women's Education and Legal Fund (CWEALF), a nonprofit organization striving to advance women's rights and opportunities in Hartford, Connecticut.
