Matt is an experienced litigator and trial attorney. He represents employees who've faced sexual harassment, discrimination and a hostile work environment in the workplace in both state and federal court. He also represents employees and employers in labor proceedings pursuant to collective bargaining agreements and the civil service law before the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) arbitrators in disciplinary hearings.
Matt's practice also focuses on personal injury cases on behalf of individuals harmed by the negligent acts of others. This includes slip/trip and fall cases, medical malpractice, premises liability, automobile accidents and products liability issues resulting in serious injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spinal damage, nerve damage, life-altering injuries as well as wrongful death claims.
Finally, Matt represents business owners and shareholders in disputes involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, theft of trade secrets and non-compete agreements. The subject matter of these disputes is as varied as the geographic location or forum where it has occurred and has included polymers, mutual funds, hedge funds, advertising, bridal startups and more. He has represented clients before the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and in state and federal courts throughout New York. He also litigates in courts of other states as well on behalf of clients’ interstate interests.
Matt is a former law clerk to the Justices of the New York State Appellate Division and an assistant district attorney in Albany County. He also serves as a Special Prosecutor in both Felony and Misdemeanor criminal matters when called upon by Judges of County and Supreme Court. He maintains a private criminal defense and appellate practice and has represented individuals on a wide array of charges from misdemeanors and DWI to serious felony offenses.
