Ryan P. Bailey, an accomplished attorney with a focus on civil litigation and serious personal injury cases, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to his clients. Working with Bailey, Johnson & Peck, P.C., based in Albany, New York, he takes on personal injury cases of a broad spectrum. Mr. Bailey’s legal acumen covers advising individuals, insurance companies, contractors, licensed professionals and municipalities. Recently, Mr. Bailey rejoined his current firm as a partner after a significant tenure as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Schenectady. In this role, he provided legal counsel to the Corporation Counsel, department heads and the city council, addressing a broad spectrum of civil issues such as personal injury, breach of contract, tax assessments and environmental law. His responsibilities also included preparing contracts, drafting ordinances and leading settlement negotiations. His dedication to the City of Schenectady extends beyond his professional duties; he was also appointed as a board member on the City’s Planning Commission, a role that allows him to contribute to the city’s development and planning processes.

Educated at The College of Saint Rose with a Bachelor of Science in 2005, followed by his law degree in 2011, Mr. Bailey’s educational background has solidly prepared him for his diverse and challenging legal career. After earning his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School of Union University in 2011, he has built a reputable career that spans various facets of legal practice. His courtroom experience is extensive, having tried cases in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York and prepared briefs for the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, as well as the New York State Supreme Court’s Appellate Division.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Bailey is deeply involved in community service and charitable activities. His commitment was recognized when he served in AmeriCorps for a year, earning both the presidential and congressional Volunteer Service Awards. Additionally, he was honored by the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York for his unwavering dedication to providing pro bono services to those in need.
