Helene Bernstein is the esteemed founder of the Law and Mediation Office of Helene Bernstein, PLLC, located in the heart of Prospect Heights, New York, serving the downtown and Brownstone Brooklyn community. Since 1995, she has dedicated her practice to guiding clients through the complexities of family law. Her firm focuses on divorce, separation, custody, child support, domestic violence, child abuse, appeals, and the drafting of pre- and postnuptial agreements. Recognizing the diverse needs of her clientele, she offers flexible consultation options, including in-person and video chat services, to accommodate their schedules and preferences. Ms. Bernstein's educational background includes a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, awarded in 1987, and a B.A. with distinction in Political Science from SUNY-Binghamton in 1984. Her bar admissions include New York State in 1988, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 1991. Her legal career commenced with a role as a prosecutor for the Administration for Children's Services, followed by representing children in high-stakes custody battles. She is also a recognized member of the court-approved presumptive divorce mediation panels for Kings, New York and Bronx counties.

Ms. Bernstein's commitment to family law excellence is evident through her active participation in several prestigious organizations, including FamilyKind, Inc. (as a former board member), the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York (where she serves as the Current President), the New York Council on Divorce Mediation (where she lectures various updates to the law and has served as the Brooklyn Mediation Peer Group leader for over a decade), and other family law organization.
