As partner at Goldberg & Cohn LLP, Steven D. Cohn represents clients in the New York City metropolitan area. He handles commercial cases and Real Estate matters, Administrative Law and Family Law. A recipient of the Annual Award for Outstanding Jurisprudence and Public Service from the Brooklyn Bar Association, he also received the Pro Bono Award from the New York State Bar Association and was given an Award of Special Recognition from the Brooklyn Women's Bar Association.
In 1970, Mr. Cohn graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, and was a member of the Dean's List. He then attended Brooklyn Law School, where he graduated in 1973, with his Juris Doctor. Several years later, he obtained his Master of Laws (LLM) from New York University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York, and before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Appellate Division, Supreme Court of the State of New York.
Mr. Cohn has a lengthy history of working with professional organizations and is currently a member of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA, the American Bar Association (ABA), Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association (BWBA) and the Brooklyn Bar Association (BBA). He is also a founding member of the Volunteer Lawyers Project.
He is an Adjunct Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY) and a District Delegate and Member of the Executive Committee for the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). With extensive experience working in state and federal courts in New York, he takes a broad and results-oriented approach to every case that he handles for his clients, both corporate and individuals.
