Alex Abdo

Attorney Alex Abdo is a partner with Abdo & O'Brien, P.C., law firm in Syracuse, New York. Nationally recognized as among the top trial lawyers in the country, Mr. Abdo has more than 16 years of total legal experience. He focuses his practice primarily on workers' compensation law, and he provides invaluable counsel and support to clients throughout the greater Syracuse area and the North Country of New York who suffered a debilitating injury on the job that prevents them from working.

Focusing solely on workers' compensation law since 2005, Mr. Abdo has successfully handled thousands of cases, where he has represented claimants as well as insurance carriers, municipalities and the self-insured. From his efforts, he has recovered substantial awards for his plaintiff clients while defending the rights and interests of key stakeholders against baseless and fraudulent workers' compensation claims.

After graduating cum laude from Ithaca College in 2000, Mr. Abdo obtained his Juris Doctor cum laude from Florida State University College of Law in 2003. He then joined the Hillsborough County Public Defender’s Office, where he gained invaluable trial and negotiation experience. He then relocated back to his native Syracuse and worked as a partner with a prominent area law firm, focusing primarily on representing insurance carriers and employers.

Mr. Abdo is an active member of the Injured Workers Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association as well as the Onondaga County Bar Foundation. He has also conducted numerous lectures and continuing legal education seminars across his region on a variety of legal topics.
