As a mother and former educator, Ms. Grattan deeply understands how divorce and family issues affect children and parents. You want the best for your children; she wants the best for them to.
Annemarie Grattan, managing attorney, concentrates her practice on complex family and matrimonial law settlements and litigation, including the negotiation and preparation of marital agreements, joint parenting plans, and the equitable distribution of assets. Ms. Grattan is also a certified matrimonial and family mediator.Â
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Grattan was an elementary and middle school teacher in Memphis, Tennessee. Drawing on this experience, Ms. Grattan helps clients understand the complexities of matrimonial law while guiding them towards a cost effective and smooth resolution of their matrimonial matter. Recognizing the delicate nature of divorce and family law proceedings, Ms. Grattan treats each client with respect and compassion, care and understanding.
Ms. Grattan is committed to the advancement of legal knowledge, and is an active member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, Family Law and Matrimonial Law Committees, the Suffolk County Matrimonial Bar Association, the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association and the Alexander Hamilton Inn of Courts. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers Association.
Ms. Grattan also has a steadfast commitment to public service. While attending Law School, Ms. Grattan championed the rights of juveniles and the working poor. She was awarded the Charles H. Revson and Susan M. Dietrich Clyne Public Interest Law Fellowships to facilitate her representation of youth and those living with mental illness. Continuing her dedication to the public interest, Ms. Grattan volunteered as a pro bono attorney with the Mental Hygiene Legal Service, Special Litigation and Appeals Unit, after admission to the New York State Bar.Â
