Lara Traum is a partner, collaborative attorney, mediator, and parenting coordinator with Roytberg Traum Law and Mediation, PC., offering assistance in matrimonial, prenuptial, postnuptial, and trust and estate matters. She is fluent in Russian.
Lara has been actively practicing as a mediator under Part 146 NYS Unified Court System approval since 2013. She has completed trainings with the New York Center for Interpersonal Development, the Cardozo Divorce Mediation Clinic, and Mosten Mediation Training (where she served as an Assistant Trainer with Forrest S. Mosten and received additional mediator approval under California DRPA).
Lara is President of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation, an officer of the Zamir Choral Foundation, a director on the Board of COJECO (Council of Jewish Emigre Community Organizations) and a past director on the Board of the Townsend Harris Alumni Association. Lara is a current member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Long Island Collaborative Divorce Professionals, the NYS Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section and Publication Review Editorial Team, and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
Lara received her Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, cum laude, with a Concentration in Family and Matrimonial Law and a Jacob Burns Medal for Scholastic Achievement. She received a Bachelor of Arts from New York University. In law school, Lara was the Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and a member of the ADR Competition Honors Society where she won first and second place at national and international Cyberweek eMediation competitions and at the Northeast Regional ABA Representation in Mediation Competition.

Before pursuing her mediation career, Lara worked with the Zamir Choral Foundation. In addition to conducting a HaZamir chapter, Lara sang as a soprano and soloist with the Zamir Chorale, performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Her solo album was released in 2015.
