Kieth Ian Rieger

With 40-plus years of law practicing experience, Kieth Ian Rieger is an established attorney at Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein, LLP, and is also peer-review rated AV-Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell. After graduating from Stony Brook University in New York, Mr. Rieger pursued law at Hofstra University – Maurice A. Deane School of Law. He was licensed to practice in New York in 1980 and was admitted to appear before all the state and federal courts in New York, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. 

Practicing law in the field of family law for a significant period, Mr. Rieger has been witnessing the transformation of the complex social system and the law that governs it for over four decades. He understands the nuances of family law – its provisions and shortcomings. He is equipped to manage complex matters including high-stakes asset distribution conflicts to interstate custody trials. He has also won a custody case that set a landmark for the protection of the rights of a nonbiological father. 

Providing learned counsel to his clients on the various aspects of matrimonial law, Mr. Rieger is a regular and active participant in continuing legal education programs. He uses every opportunity that comes his way to impart knowledge to the younger generation and has published several articles of relevance in various reputed law journals. 

Mr. Rieger has professional affiliations with several important legal associations including the New York State Bar Association’s Family Law Section – executive committee member; the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers’ New York Chapter – former fellow; the Nassau County Bar Association – former chair of the matrimonial committee; the Nassau Academy of Law – former secretary, treasurer and dean and; The Nassau Lawyers Association of Long Island – former member of the board of directors.
