Maria Schwartz

Maria Schwartz, PC, is a family law firm in Garden City, New York, with offices in Manhattan as well, founded by attorney Maria Schwartz. Ms. Schwartz represents clients throughout New York facing divorce and other domestic legal issues.

Ms. Schwartz has been licensed to practice law in the state of New York since 1996 and has more than 20 years of experience practicing divorce and family law. She is a graduate of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and opened her practice immediately following law school.

Over the course of her career, Ms. Schwartz has handled numerous types of complex divorces and family related matters. She has experience at both the trial and appellate levels and has practiced throughout the New York metropolitan area. She is adept at guiding clients through all levels of a matrimonial case, in terms of both negotiations, litigation and trial strategy.

In addition to running her family law practice, Ms. Schwartz spent nine years as a special professor of law teaching negotiation skills at her alma mater, the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. She has also spoken at conferences and seminars at the state and local levels on various domestic legal topics.

Ms. Schwartz is an active member of the New York legal community. She is a member of professional organizations, including the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association, where she serves on the matrimonial committee and past Vice President of the Nassau County Womens Bar Association. She has been mentioned in several media publications and received awards from the Nassau County Bar Association and Hofstra University Center for Children, Families and the Law.
