Janet Nina Esagoff

The founder of her own law firm located in Great Neck, New York, Janet Nina Esagoff's client base comes from all five New York City boroughs as well as from Nassau and Suffolk counties. Her practice areas encompass landlord/tenant and other types of civil litigation, business and commercial law, and real estate transactions. Ms. Esagoff is dedicated to providing her individual and business clients with exceptional and cost-effective representation.

The types of litigation that Ms. Esagoff has experience in include holdover proceedings, in which a residential or commercial tenant stays past the expiration of the lease without the landlord's consent. She also has handled cases involving the nonpayment of rent, as well as situations where a tenant has violated the terms of the lease. In her business and commercial law practice, Ms. Esagoff regularly prepares and reviews contracts and residential and commercial lease agreements. Her real estate experience encompasses the purchase and sale of residential and commercial properties, the refinancing of secured loans, foreclosures, loan modifications and workouts, and title reviews.

Ms. Esagoff received an Associate of Applied Science in fashion design and marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1990. She then owned and operated a retail and manufacturing fashion company that produced and sold special-occasion garments for girls and women. In 2001, she enrolled at the City University of New York and obtained a Bachelor of Science in urban politics, cum laude, two years later. Ms. Esagoff subsequently attended the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 2008. Admitted to practice in New York, she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Supreme Court of the United States.
