Elyse J. Stern

Elyse J. Stern is an attorney and partner at Stern Law Firm, based in Jericho, New York. Her practice is primarily focused on representing plaintiffs in personal injury, medical malpractice and civil litigation matters. She also handles construction litigation for consumers, serving clients across the Bronx, Queens and Manhattan, as well as throughout Kings, Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties.

Ms. Stern provides legal services to individuals navigating a variety of complex claims, including motor vehicle and trucking accidents, premises liability, and wrongful death. Her practice addresses specific issues such as birth and brain injuries, animal bites, and medical negligence involving delayed or incorrect diagnoses and informed consent. Within the field of construction law, she represents those affected by site accidents and structural defects. Prior to entering the legal profession, she worked in the business and real estate industries. This experience allows her to approach litigation with a focus on protecting the financial interests of her clients while helping them pursue recovery for their injuries.

Ms. Stern received her Juris Doctor from the Hofstra University Maurice A. Deane School of Law, where she was recognized with the Advanced Trial Advocacy Award. Her educational background also includes a Master of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University. She is admitted to practice in all New York state courts and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is an active member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

In 2017, Hofstra University named Ms. Stern one of the Outstanding Women in Law. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association and the New York Women’s Bar Association, and she is also affiliated with the Lawyers of Distinction and Marquis Who’s Who. Beyond her practice, she has dedicated time as a volunteer for Cerebral Palsy of Nassau County.
