John G. Rusk

I am a member of the law firm of Rusk Wadlin Heppner & Martuscello, LLP, in Kingston, New York.  I am a personal injury lawyer with over 37 years of experience. As a National Board of Trial Advocacy-certified civil trial advocacy specialist, I am qualified to represent clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries caused by truck accidents, car crashes, slip-and-falls, medical malpractice, and construction accidents.  This includes traumatic brain injuries and concussions, fractures and other injuries requiring surgery. 

I attended St. Lawrence University (BA Philosophy) in 1985. I then attended and graduated from Boston College Law School (JD 1988). I have been practicing law since my admission in NY in 1989.  I am also admitted to practice in Connecticut and the District of Columbia.  I worked as a part-time Assistant District Attorney for the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office since 1989. I just retired after 37 years from that office in 2026.  This allows me to now focus my efforts entirely on my personal injury practice 

Over the years, I have handled thousands of personal injury cases.  Most cases have been resolved by way of a significant settlement for my clients.  However, when a trial is required, our litigation team has obtained sizable verdicts.  For example, we received a $3.3 million jury verdict for a woman in Wallkill who suffered a traumatic brain injury from a car accident. I also participate in many community legal related activities such as providing pro bono services to a fireman injured following the 9/11 terror attacks in NYC. 

I am a member of numerous associations related to the field of personal injury law, including the NY State Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American Association for Justice. I am also a member of the Elite Lawyers of America, Million Dollar Advocates, and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
