Michael J. Blom

Michael J. Blom is a partner at Phillips Law Group in New York, New York, who concentrates his practice on personal injury, pharmaceutical drug injury, medical device liability and mass tort litigation. He represents individuals and families affected by large-scale product and drug-related harms, guiding clients through complex multidistrict and state court proceedings with a client-centered approach and rigorous case development.

Mr. Blom built a foundation in the sciences before entering the law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biological-evolutionary psychology from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, in 2006, then received his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law in 2011. While in law school, he served as a law clerk for the Office of the Public Defender in Baltimore, assisting in felony, misdemeanor and nonsupport divisions, and worked as a court liaison for guardian ad litem in Fort Lauderdale’s dependency division on behalf of abused, neglected and abandoned children.

Throughout his career, Mr. Blom has prosecuted claims arising from a wide array of mass torts and product liability matters. He has been involved in litigation connected to Camp Lejeune water contamination, hair relaxer injuries, Philips CPAP devices, Paraquat herbicide exposure, NEC baby formula, Elmiron eye injury claims and Zantac-related suits. His docket also includes firefighting foam (AFFF), Paragard IUD, Valsartan, Roundup, 3M military earplugs, Truvada, pelvic and joint implant cases, Essure, proton pump inhibitors, talcum powder, Invokana, IVC filters, Xarelto and testosterone replacement therapy matters.

Mr. Blom is admitted to practice in Arizona and New York, and is authorized to appear before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. He maintains active memberships in the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
