Brian E. Lee

As a partner at Bartlett LLP, based in Melville, New York, Brian E. Lee provides strategic legal representation to clients all across the state. He primarily focuses his practice on civil litigation and health care matters, including medical malpractice defense, appellate practice and representing nonprofit organizations.

With over 45 years of experience, Mr. Lee stands out for his work with mental health professionals. He offers representation in legal actions and professional misconduct proceedings, including matters involving the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC) and the Office of Professional Discipline (OPD).

Mr. Lee’s work extends to handling complicated Justice Center and DEA matters, as well as conducting sensitive Title IX investigations. Beyond litigation, he serves as a strategic adviser on various risk management issues, helping health care providers and organizations safeguard their practices and reputations.

An academic scholar, Mr. Lee graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University in 1974. He then went on to pursue his legal studies at the Valparaiso University Law School, where he laid the foundation for his legal career and received his Juris Doctor in 1976.

Licensed to practice law in New York, Mr. Lee is admitted to practice before a wide array of federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

An active member within his legal community, Mr. Lee remains highly engaged in the legal community through his memberships in the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers Association.
