Unlike most employment attorneys, Justin R. Marino spent nearly the first 10 years of his career defending employers from employment claims. During this time, he worked for two of the most prominent law firms, and his clients included some of the largest employers in the country. On January 1, 2017, Justin R. Marino founded his own law firm, Stevenson Marino LLP, after realizing that it more enjoyable being on the attack than on defense. At Stevenson Marino LLP, Justin R. Marino now represents employees. Who better to go after employers than the individual who was responsible for defending them for nearly 10 years straight?  Ans.  Justin Marino. Justin Marino handles every case asking, what would I do on defense? What would my considerations be? Thereafter, he strategically positions his clients' claims in a manner to maximize their recovery. 

Since January 1, 2017, Justin Marino has secured millions of dollars in settlements covering virtually every aspect of employment law, including claims unpaid wages, discrimination, reverse discrimination, retaliation, harassment, commissions, and unpaid bonuses. While several of his cases hit the news (e.g., N.Y. Post, Law360), and have been reported publicly within the court system, many others are brought and are resolved discreetly -- with no one becoming aware other than the parties involved.  Ultimately, the method and manner by which the claims are raised are dependent on the employee and what is in the best interest of the employee. The key, however, is that Justin Marino puts himself in the shoes of his client asking only: what is in my client's best interest, and how can I achieve it?

Justin Marino is admitted to practice in both Connecticut and New York, Mr. Marino is also admitted to practice before a long list of federal courts. These include the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, the United States District Court for the Western District of New York, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. Attorneys at Stevenson Marino LLP are admitted in NJ as well. We have also brought cases in other states, such as Ohio and California. In essence, if there's a good claim, we will partner with local counsel to prosecute those claims.

In 2003, Mr. Marino graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany with a degree in Accounting. At Saint John’s University School of Law, he earned his Juris Doctor in 2007 and was a St. Thomas More Scholar.

Mr. Marino is the treasurer of the Suffolk County Columbian Lawyers’ Association, Inc., and treasurer of the Huntington Lawyers’ Club. During his career, he has given professional presentations to Continuing Legal Education and the Huntington Lawyers’ Club.
