Barry S. Kantrowitz

Barry S. Kantrowitz is a partner at Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C., in Chestnut Ridge, New York. In addition to handling the daily operations of the firm's non matrimonial litigation department, Mr. Kantrowitz focuses his practice of law in the areas of personal injury, corporate and complex commercial litigation, professional malpractice, criminal defense and commercial real estate. He serves Rockland County, Westchester County and Orange County in New York, as well as Bergen County in New Jersey.

Mr. Kantrowitz has represented individual claimants and both large and small companies against formidable corporate defendants. In a landmark injury case in 2008, he obtained a $9.2 million jury verdict in connection with the death of two teenagers at a construction site. Since that time, Mr. Kantrowitz has obtained a federal judgment in excess of $1.5 million against one of the largest privately held companies in the world and recovered more than $600,000 in an oppressive conduct case on behalf of a minority shareholder. Other notable cases include a $1,391,666 verdict in a medical malpractice case and the successful defense of an international corporation in a $40 million claim against a fire suppression subsidiary.

In recognition of his legal skills and high-professional standards, Mr. Kantrowitz has received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and an “Excellent” rating from his peers through Avvo. He earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 1985 after graduating from Harpur College — Binghamton University, State University of New York, in 1982. While in law school, Mr. Kantrowitz was honored as a Paul J. Liacos Scholar and an Edward Hennessey Scholar. He is licensed to practice law in the states of New York, New Jersey and Florida and before the Supreme Court of the United States.
