Barry S. Kantrowitz is a partner at Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C., in Chestnut Ridge, New York. Mr. Kantrowitz has represented individual claimants and both large and small companies against formidable corporate defendants. In a landmark injury case in 2008, he obtained a $9.2 million jury verdict in connection with the death of two teenagers at a construction site. Since that time, Mr. Kantrowitz has obtained a federal judgment in excess of $1.5 million against one of the largest privately held companies in the world and recovered more than $600,000 in an oppressive conduct case on behalf of a minority shareholder. Other notable cases include a $1,391,666 verdict in a medical malpractice case and the successful defense of an international corporation in a $40 million claim against a fire suppression subsidiary.
In recognition of his legal skills and high-professional standards, Mr. Kantrowitz has received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and an “Excellent” rating from his peers through Avvo. He earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 1985 after graduating from Harpur College — Binghamton University, State University of New York, in 1982.
