I am a partner and trial attorney at Fellows Hymowitz Rice PLLC, a New York personal injury law firm with offices serving Rockland County, Westchester County, New York City, and the surrounding region.
For more than two decades, I have litigated complex, high-exposure personal injury cases involving catastrophic injuries, construction accidents, New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240(1) and 241(6), wrongful death, trucking accidents, and serious motor vehicle collisions.
Early in my career, I helped obtain a settlement exceeding $8.3 million against the City of New York on behalf of a young woman who suffered partial paralysis in an accident involving a negligently maintained roadway. The result was life-changing for my client, and the relationship we developed remains one of the most meaningful experiences of my career.
My litigation experience also includes involvement in matters arising from the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, the East 51st Street crane collapse, the Staten Island Ferry crash, and the Con Edison steam pipe explosion.
Before concentrating exclusively on representing injured plaintiffs, I represented corporations and other defendants in multimillion-dollar litigation. That experience gave me a valuable perspective: I understand how defendants and their insurers evaluate risk, develop litigation strategies, and defend substantial claims.
I believe successful litigation is rarely accidental. It is the product of preparation, strategic thinking, disciplined execution, and systems designed to produce better outcomes.
That philosophy extends beyond the courtroom. As a partner at Fellows Hymowitz Rice, I have also focused on developing the operational, technological, and marketing systems that allow a growing personal injury firm to compete effectively in an increasingly complex legal marketplace, which has resulted in a very strong results for our clients.
I graduated from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 2000, earned my J.D. from St. John's University School of Law in 2003 as a St. Thomas Aquinas Scholar, and received my MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business in 2011.
Along with being peer-review rated as AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Rice has also been rated “Superb” on Avvo. He is closely affiliated with several local and national professional organizations, including the New York State Bar Association, the Westchester County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
