Shara Hallie Goldfarb is committed to offering compassionate and thoughtful guidance through life's transitions, focusing on the emotional, financial and psychological well-being of families. At the Miller Law Group, based in New Rochelle, New York, she helps clients navigate the complexities of parenting plans, child custody, child support, spousal maintenance, equitable asset distribution and pre- or postnuptial agreements, aiming for favorable outcomes for her clients and their families.
Ms. Goldfarb began her legal career after earning a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1997 and completed a clerkship at the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. She then joined a prestigious New York City firm, where she practiced business litigation and matrimonial law. Over time, her focus shifted entirely to matrimonial and family law.
For the past 15 years, Ms. Goldfarb has represented children in complex custody disputes, observing firsthand the adverse effects of parental conflict on children. This experience led her to emphasize mediation and collaborative law, encouraging parents to shield their children from the stress and negativity associated with litigation.
Regardless of the chosen method – mediation, collaborative divorce or litigation – Ms. Goldfarb advises her clients to actively engage in the process, focusing on what truly matters to them. Her goal is to reach resolutions that align with the immediate and future needs of the family. In recognition of her professional merits, she has also been AV Preeminent peer-review rated* through Martindale-Hubbell.
Ms. Goldfarb holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Michigan (1993). She is affiliated with the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals and the National Association of Divorce Professionals. Additionally, she is certified by the Attorney for the Child Panel under the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department.
*AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell® is the facilitator of a peer-review rating process. Ratings reflect the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary.
